About Time!

A long overdue post to catch up on what we've been up too:
We attended a baby yoga storytime class on March 14.  Olivia was a little scattered, but enjoyed some of the different poses and the "Hop-a-log Yogi" song.  She even asked the instructor for more.
Sarah enjoyed a girls night with Susan on March 16--the Dans watched the kids.
We celebrated St Patrick's Day with the Beavers and Shooks--we enjoyed lunch together and some the kids snagged some playtime.
On March 18, we headed with Bayless Band to Quapaw, OK to a camp for a Spring Break Retreat for middle-high schoolers at a church from Derby.  We got to spend 3 days hanging out at the camp (too bad it rained for 2 solid days and that I forgot my camera).  The area was gorgeous.  Olivia had a blast dancing and clapping to the praise music and waving "hi" to all of the kids (who thought she was pretty cute).  Dan did the 1700 foot zip line that the camp boasts--from 5 stories up over a creek.  And we watched him in the rain.  Looked like a rush.  :)  Olivia really wanted to try it out.  Maybe when she's older she can drag cousin Adelynn along.
We returned home March 20, the day Olivia turned 16 months old.  Olivia is rapidly adding words to her vocabulary:  shoes, nanney (banana), baby, dog, woof, meow, hoo-hoo, neigh, baa, roar, maa, daddy, mommy, bubbles, bottle, hi, bye.  She still signs please, more, drink, thank you, elephant (and makes the sound), fish, attempts butterfly.  Her favorites in the past few weeks have been: scribbling, playing babies, cooking, and bubbles.  She's also been more interested in her puzzles.
We enjoyed a day together before having Xan for a two days--we hit library storytime since we needed out of the house.  Olivia loved the songs and watching all the kids.  She even sat through the stories and nursery rhymes with very little redirection.  Xan needed a little more help to stay sitting but loved the bubbles and dancing.  We'll go again!
Sarah worked yesterday, Dan attended Comicon, and Olivia got a day with Grandma J.  WHEW!  And we'll have another crazy week this week.
Blankies now join us most mornings for breakfast.

Climbing on the table...

Enjoying our version of a sandbox.  It's been gorgeous out!

Playing with mom's wallet--and the coins.

Scotty and Olivia

St Patrick's Day fun.
Shelf sitting.

She is determined to get the latches!  Glad she likes her new backpack!

Bayless playing at the retreat--Dan is on the right.  :)

Olivia wishing she could zip line.

Dan and Olivia in their hats

Dan after zip lining.  What you can't see is that it is raining and that the gentleman below him is soaked!  Dan was the last zip liner.

Dan started at the tower in the distance, just to the left of the closest tree.  He went over a creek!

  1. I'm jealous that Dan got to go on the zipline. I didn't get to do that when we went to the ropes course in Utah (I did do this huge high-up swing thing that was pretty cool though). And I can picture Olivia ziplining someday. Not sure about Adelynn though...:)

  2. They had a zip line at the fair this year that Kate and I thought of doing. Maybe we can wait for Olivia to get older and then do it all together.

  3. What a fun life! So glad you're enjoying every minute! And Kate, don't you worry, Adelynn has overcome her fear of the slide - so she is able to face her fears!

  4. Dan thought the zip line was pretty cool--I probably should have gone, but you know me-I get a huge thrill out of watching! :)
